Dr. Strangelove... (isn't Kissinger in there too?.. he should be)
How many characters was Peter Sellers originally supposed to portray in Dr. Strangelove?

Probably wrong, but I think Sellers was. orig. only supposed to play one character. Speaking of Sellers multipal roles-- what was UK film (sort of a spoof antiwar-- or maybe war film) before Dr. Strangelove in which he played three roles?

Actually Sellers was supposed to play 4 characters (I believe the George C Scott character also but Eric may shed some more light on this).. don't know the previous film though

I don't know the answer to Ed's question re. Sellers' pre-STRANGELOVE antiwar film in which he did three characters.
But regarding Sellers playing a fourth character in STRANGELOVE, that was to be Major Kong, the pilot of the B-52. Sellers bowed out of that role after telling Kubrick that he was being taxed with doing three roles already, and he had a very hard time working up the Western cowboy accent the character required. Thus, Slim Pickens stepped in to the role and rode the bomb to both oblivion and cinematic immortality.
Name the Robert Ludlum-based suspense thriller that was the last movie ever directed by Sam Peckinpah.

I think that Peckinpah was The Osterman Weekend. The Sellers 'triple role' film was The Mouse That Roared (watch it-- great fun . Speaking of multirole actors in British films, what was '49 'dark' comedy in which Alec Guinness played multiple roles (all members of the same family)?

Something like-- 'This stuff would be great for a weekend in Vegas.' I like the line: 'You can't fight in here gentlemen, it's the war room!' ;D . In On the Waterfront by the way, Lee J. Cobb was the corrupt union boss; Rod Steiger was a corrupt lawyer, Brando's brother. What was Slim Pickens's 'tag line' in Blazing Saddles making incongruous reference to a popular TV program?
