First day of the new forum and I already made a mistake. Intended to vote for "Klute", but accidentally voted for "Julia." Oh well, "Julia" is a great one too. Gaston

The first one was "Tall Story." I haven't seen either one though. Jane was incredibly sexy in the 60's, I agree. But even now she's still a very beautiful woman in my opinion. Gaston

Well......I am a huge Jane Fonda fan........and it is difficult for me to pick just one favorite.....but I voted for Klute........but loved her in many.....including a film not really highly rated with critics......Electric Cowboy with Robert Redford.......just watched one of her last films.......The Morning After...........and I did like her performance in that as well.........even though I have to admit the movie was not deserving of it. Jeff D Same here, I can watch anything with Jane Fonda, love her. What a pity (for us) that she married that CNN guy, causing that very long break in her movie career. I like "The Electric Horseman" and "The Morning After" too, even though (especially the latter one) isn't very good. Gaston

I voted for Barbarella. I've only seen two of these films, the other being Klute. But Barbarella was too funny to ignore. So there it is Andrew

Oh, I have seen Cat Ballou as well, though it was quite a while ago. I don't even remember the humor of it.
More recently, I saw Lee Marvin singing about Wandering like a star or something. Not a bad song, but he was no singer, and that was no movie.

Jane was very cute and her acting was fine, but a hilarious Lee Marvin really stole the show in that one, and his horse was very funny too! Also featuring Nat King Cole singing the different parts of the movie together, and it worked very well. Gaston

I chose her performance in THE CHINA SYNDROME as my favorite of Jane's, because it is both a suspenseful and timely (but not ham-fisted) message movie. It is certainly anti-nuke, but this is due to the fact that nuclear power itself can never be 100% safe because human beings can never be 100% perfect (or even honest).

Also, feeling uneducated about the controversy surrounding Jane regarding the Vietnam War, I looked her up on the internet. I only read the entry in Wikipedia so far, which I know is not 100% reliable, but I definitely came out on her side. If she's a traitor then so am I, because I think we have done evil things as a country, and I wish Bush's plans had been exposed before he had a chance to carry them out in March 2003. People call her a traitor as if two things were true: 1. Being a traitor is a bad thing (in other words, blind patriotism is worse) 2. Jane Fonda was a traitor, no matter what arguments are presented to the contrary. In other words, people are very stubborn on this issue. So boring, and I'm glad she continued on with her acting in spite of this.

For some reason, I couldn't get it to vote . But I vote for 'Klute.' Second I guess would be 'Julia.' I like her often-- I think she developed into a good actress (sorta like Sally Field-- though in general I think JF's better). I don't care for her super much in those early films though-- though sexy . (I like Barefoot in the Park but not so much for the acting of Redford or Jane). Ed

Wanted to vote equally for three, but went with Barefoot in the Park.
Barefoot in the Park China Syndrome 9 to 5
It's been years since I saw all of them. I also saw Barefoot in the Park on Broadway. I thought China Sydrome was an excellent movie and only lived less than 100 miles away from the nuclear reactor. I do recall thinking that Barbarella was just weird after seeing it.

I do recall thinking that Barbarella was just weird after seeing it. Marty Well, it was the 1960's, it was a science fiction movie based on a cartoon character and it was directed by Roger Vadim, so of course it is weird. By any objective standard it's a terrible movie really, but somehow it works on some level IMO. It's sort of a cult classic I guess. Gaston
