I've added some avatars for you guys to choose from. Many more will follow in the days ahead, but it's too big a job to do them all at once. Avatars can't be too big, but they must nevertheless look ok. No point in avatars when you can't see who's on them. For some of you guys of whom I know that they are fans of certain artists I've taken the liberty of selecting one for them already myself. But there's no need to stick with that avatar if you don't want. You can delete it or choose another one if you go to your profile and go to the "modify profile" option.

Marty O, I'll switch around regularly between Dusty, Linda and others, but Keith stays for the moment. He gives the forum some rock 'n' roll credibility. Can't do that if you only have "pretty" people. Gaston PS: Sweet dreams, Marty ;D

Hi Kathy, My avatar is Michael Ball. If all goes well, I hope to see him in Liverpool this March, can hardly wait! Previously I had a pic of Dusty Springfield as my avatar. These are my favorite male and female singers. I am a fairly new Michael Ball fan and been a Dusty Springfield fan for over 40 years. Did I hear someone say old fart LOL! Marty

HI MARTY !! I HAVE TO ADMIT, I HEARD THE NAME MICHAEL BALL, BUT NEVER HEARD HIS MUSIC. I DID LOOK UP HI BIO AND PASTED A PORTION. HE'S HIGHLY REGARDED IN THE UK .. IN MUSIC AND THEATRE.. SADLY, I'M NOT CULTURED. THIS PIECE BELOW WITH PETULA CLARK CAUGHT MY ATTENTION...I LOVE "SUNSET BLVD" BUT CAN'T VISULIZE THIS CONCERT!! AND, HE JUST MADE HIS DEBUT IN THE STATES.. PERHAPS MORE EXPOSURE HERE IN THE STATES AS HE READS VERY VERSATILE. FOR ME, I'M NOT MUCH FOR BROADWAY, SO I'LL CHECK AMAZON FOR THE DVD / CD SAMPLE.. THEN, I CAN WRITE LIKE I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT DUSTY, -- JUST ASK GASTON CAME TO KNOW HER THROUGH HIM AND THE GROUP. MOSTLY HER COMMERCIAL SONGS, BUT I'M GETTING THERE... SLOWLY. AT LEAST I KEEP "SON OF A PREACHER MAN" ON MY DAILY PLAYLIST. YOUR AMONG MANY DUSTY'S HERE.. I, STAND ALONE AS A "STEVIE NICKS" FAN ( CIRCA 1977) AT HER BEST AND, I GET HECK FOR THE REST OF HER SOLO CAREER.. EXCEPT FOR GASTON WHO HAS FOLLOWED HER THRU BELLA DONNA & SORCERER.. THE MAN HAS TASTE. THANKS FOR THE INFO.. WELCOME TO THE GROUP AND KEEP TOSSING SOME MUSIC INFO OUT.. I'LL CATCH IT .. ..EVENTUALLY !! ( SECRETLY HOPING HE'S A MAC OR STEVIE FAN).. KATHY In March 2004, Michael undertook a highly successful concert tour of Australia, including a sell out at Sydney Opera House. In April 2004 Michael played opposite Petula Clark in BBC Radio 2's live concert production of SUNSET BOULEVARD recorded at Cork Opera House, prior to making his American solo concert debut in Salt Lake City, Utah in May. Towards the end of 2004 Michael released "Love Changes Everything - The Essential Michael Ball", a double CD containing three previously unreleased tracks including the self-penned "That's What Love Is For". The DVD/Video "Live in London" which had been recorded at the Hammersmith Apollo the previous year was also released in November.

Hi Kathy, Thanks for posting about Michael Ball, that was very nice of you, did you get a chance to hear him sing? Perhaps I can send you a copy of one of his CDs? Michael does a lot of show tunes, but he also loves to rock. If you are interested, please PM me and I will be more than happy to do so. Michael Ball is known on the Broadway stage in the US, besides oldies I love musicals. Afraid I am too low tech for MP3s or whatever Learning to burn a CD was a biggie for me...LOL! BTW, Sunset Blvd is an excellent show, I heard it broadcasted on BBC Radio on line about a year ago. Sounds like you are a Petula Clark fan Kathy, so am I! Michael Ball recently did a concert in London as a guest star with Petula Clark and Tony Hatch. If you are not familiar with Tony Hatch, he wrote many of Petula's big hits including Downtown, I Know A Place, Don't Sleep In the Subway, The Other Man's Grass Is Always Greener and many more. Just editing to add that this concert was also broadcasted on BBC Radio 2 and I got to listen to it on line. It was GREAT! As for your comments about Dusty and Gaston. I was very fortunate to meet Gaston through various Dusty websites and we did manage to stay in touch through the years. He is a lovely person. Hey Gaston, I hope I am not giving you a swelled head! LOL! I'm glad you mentioned that you are a big Stevie Nicks fan, as I was not sure who your avatar was. Of course I know of her, but I did not recognize the picture. Good to know that you have added Son of A Preacher Man to you play list. However, there is so much more to Dusty than that song! Have you heard some of her other songs besides her big hits? Marty HI MARTY !! I HAVE TO ADMIT, I HEARD THE NAME MICHAEL BALL, BUT NEVER HEARD HIS MUSIC. I DID LOOK UP HI BIO AND PASTED A PORTION. HE'S HIGHLY REGARDED IN THE UK .. IN MUSIC AND THEATRE.. My skin about every other day keeps on reverting back to James Brown and I have to keep on going back to change it to Dusty Springfield! Any idea why this is happening? Marty I have no idea. The James Brown skin has been the "default" skin for the last 8 days or so. The default skin is the one people who aren't members, or members that aren't logged on get to see when they visit the forum. But that shouldn't make a difference to the skin that members themselves have selected once they are logged on. Anyway, the Dusty skin is now the default skin, so I doubt if you'll have a problem now. Gaston
