The subject line is the same as on my AOL news this morning. The article states that the FDA will shortly approving clonged meat and dairy products.
I am not sure about this, something just doesn't sound right to me about this. I wonder if it wll be labeled as cloned.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Well, it will probably be labeled early on (at least until they are sure that no one drops dead within a week after eating it) but the question is whether those labels can be trusted.

Quote by Amadeus Springstadt re. Cloned Meat:
I wouldn't risk my life on trusting a label saying that cloned meat is safe. End of story.

I think we eat much worse without knowing it

Why in the world these people think cloning is necessary is beyond me.
I don't eat meat, so the question is moot for me. But if I did, no way would I eat it. I'm not going to encourage such craziness.

Andrew, do you eat any diary products, this will also include all diary products? Also, the only reasoning I can come up with for cloning is that it must be cheaper than to artificially inseminate cattle. Anything for the Almighty buck. We can thank made cow disease to that too! Marty

Yeah, I'm currently ovo-lacto vegetarian. I'd like to eventually get enough self-control to adopt a vegan diet. So far, no good, but I did make it for three weeks once...and it was over the Thanksgiving break!
As for cloned-animal dairy or eggs, still no.
Actually, maybe it's time to focus on veganism sooner rather than later. This could be right on our doorstep, and it's enough to finally push me to the side I need to be on anyway!

I love my veggies, but afraid I am too much of a carnivore to give up meat I am also recalling the recent problems with Spinach and green onions.

Lets not forget lead and mercury poisoning in our fish! Don't mean to sound sarcastic, but we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. You gotta eat!
