Anyone besides me noticed that the only one's posting here anymore are the people who came over from Goddesses? (Arjan excluded)? Did we offend? Are we too chatty? Not interesting enough? I could see why they might not like Walt or Ed, but I'm a sweetheart of a guy. (i kid fella's) It's a puzzlement.

Dunno-- we had some others for awhile too. Sorry if we've offended anyone . Gaston has been a bit absent too-- though he says he's been busy & not online so much. Hope they're all having fun-- though without us I just don't know how that is possible ;D!! Hope folks hang in here though-- I like this format too. I'll be away for 2 1/2 weeks from next Tuesday so anyone who hates me can come back for awhile anyway (not that he or she can't regardless-- .Ed

I don't know whether it's something on my machine or the site, but every single click I make on this site generates a pop-up that asks me for some password and a warning that the site asking is an insecure site. Every single click and there's no way to get rid of it. Ben Anyone besides me noticed that the only one's posting here anymore are the people who came over from Goddesses? (Arjan excluded)? I get that with a couple other proboards occasiionally-- but not here . Ed

A couple of things:
- If you have internet explorer your security settings may be too high - You may have a spyware detector which is tagging the site as insecure - some firewalls (i.e. zone alarm) may give 'false positives'

- You may have a spyware detector which is tagging the site as insecure** HOW DO WE UNTAG? It depends on the software, but if you have an icon in the system tray, you should be able to click your right mouse button and click properties or settings and allow the site.

I MISS MARTY.. AND MY WESTENDKID ( HORSE RACING).. WHO ELSE Yeah I was taking Arjan, Antonio and Jeff into account. Arjan had cut back on posting over at Goddesses prior to the formation of this forum, due to the over-abundance of posts at Goddesses that he didn't care about. We have 50 members here supposedly and 16 people have done the majority of the postings and all but one were people who were originally over in the goddess group. Babyblue is the only one in the 16 that wasn't in goddesses that I recall and their last post was April 1st. Jennifer is listed but she's been absent since day one (her, I miss ) the other 33 "members" have 42 or less posts each down to some who haven't posted a thing since joining apparently. It's really not that big a deal, I'm happy with the people who do post regularly. Just was kind of curious as to why the others stopped is all. if it's all Goddess people posting anyway, why bother with two forums? I feel bad for Gaston as this was his baby, but then, even he's scarce these days. But as Ed said, he's been busy with other things. (and maybe the others are as well) Still puzzled.

Other than that, the real topic here... Gaston meant this forum to be a good alternative to Yahoo, to get rid of the email based communications. From day 1 some people made clear they weren't that happy with this format. But yes, some of the goddess- and masters people did come here too, often or sometimes. New people not really because, well, how would they find this forum? Gaston complained about this too. How to reach them? A pity since the forum-format is a lot easier than the yahoo style for all games, charts, artists threads and more. Of course, if the yahoo group was closed a lot more would happen here but also some regulars would be never heard from again I think (though personally I don't see much difference in the yahoo posts or regular emails, so why not keep mailing each other if there's something to tell). And closing this forum, well, I think a lot of people already are used to this format (probably even before this forum was openend as every forum on the net is simalar in style) so that would also mean losing people. So to keep as much people in contact with each other both formats are kept alive...
But I think it's a pity that someone like Jeff hasn't moved his chart-show to here.

SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT ARJ.. I JUMP BACK & FORTH.. I LIKE THE "GAMES" ON HERE.. AND I'M JUST AGGREVATED BECAUSE OF THAT "PASSWORD BOX".. OTHERWISE, QUALITY VS. QUANTITY.. AS LONG AS WE HAVE GOOD GIVE & TAKE.. AND VISIT BOTH OR ALL.. STAYING IN TOUCH AND HAVING FUN IS WHAT GASTON SET OUT TO DO HERE & YEARS AGO IN YAHOO. SO ARJ.. YOU'RE STUCK WITH ME

I'm sorry Jeff doesn't at least post his games over here (weekly chart & the others) which are the most fun. I've suggested it, but he has never responded, so I conclude he just chooses not to. I don't mind, but that does lose some folks here. I won't get into other issues about that group . Anyway, I think it's fine to keep both this and the Yahoo one going-- they seem to ebb and flow from time to time in terms of posts, & just have to go with that. I've gotten used to the way topics divide here & really enjoy that; I enjoy most aspects of the informal chatting at the Yahoo group too. As for common posts-- well, it's okay w. me as not any increase in emails anyway. Ed

I'm logged in to the forum as soon as I open it. It's some other thing I don't recognize that bugs me here. I don't know if its ads or spyware or what. Annoying in any case. I'm not a big fan of proboards format anyway and find posting and carrying on conversations nearly impossible as it is. So I read everything in the last 100 posts and run my show but otherwise stay quiet. Ben I get the same while I'm not logged in, once logged in it's gone forever. Well, for that session anyway. I get the same while I'm not logged in, once logged in it's gone forever. Well, for that session anyway. The same thing happens to me. As far as I am concerned, I cannot manage the huge number of posts at the Goddesses Yahoo group, then I stopped posting there (with very few exceptions) and I am quite content with this forum. Due to lack of time, I often restrict myself to a "basic" participation. Nevertheless, I would be happy if more people participated in the discussions.

what discussion?? People making dogmatic protestations about what they like and don't like doesn't invite discussions........unless you feel like starting a flaming conflagration. No thanks. That is one of the reasons I finally left the other group. I am happy reading and taking part in the few games or polls or whatever.
and come to think of it, I did try to discuss a couple of times with no response. so I evidently are so far out of the main stream of you all that it is a waste of my typing....such as it is. I am content to do what I do. and I find it interesting reading what you all do.
of course, I could be wrong.........................Jeff D.
