For the sake of argument, let's assume that they would both take part in the next presidential election.....Who of them would come out on top? Or wouldn't one (or both) of them even get nominated because voters in the US still have a problem with the idea of a female president?
This isn't a poll about who you would want to win (although you can discuss that also of course), but about who you think that would win.

I voted the way I did because realistically I don't think either one would receive their parties' nomination.
I've stated before that Senator Clinton cannot win in the South and would have a hard time in the West other than the Blue States of the West Coast. Unlike her husband, who despite some of his ways remained popular in the South, Hilary has a great many enemies down here and very few friends. The Far Right and Religious Right would be so motivated to defeat her that it would make the mudslinging nastiness of Bush vs Kerry look like a Sunday School picnic.
Ms Rice while popular with some conservatives also would not be popular with the Southern factions of the party mostly due to her gender and race. The South has probably less regard for successful, intelligent, driven women than it does for women of Color.
I don't see either party giving their nominations to either of these deserving women (despite several disagreements I have with Ms Rice I think she's a sharp, well qualified public servant). At best I think Ms Rice might appear on the ticket as Vice President, while i don't see Senator Clinton settling for second place on the ticket.

I don't think we will see that ticket, but who knows? This will not be the first time a woman was on the Presidential slate; Geraldine Ferraro was the vice presidential candidate on Dukakis' losing bid against Bush Sr. I agree with Ron that Hillary will not accept a VP nod; Condi has said she will not run, but I don't believe her.

Quote by robertaxel:
Actually, she was the VP candidate to Walter Mondale in his failed run against the Gipper in '84. As Johnny Carson said in a famous monologue back then : "A lot of people are upset with the Democratic running mate. But unfortunately, Ferraro is stuck with Mondale."
But back to Hillary vs. Condi--Personally, I cannot stand Condoleeza Rice, at all; and this has nothing to do with her being African-American or being a woman. She comes across to me as an arrogant know-it-all who throughout this whole post-9/11 era of ours has been proven wrong on a great deal of things far more often than she's been proven right. She has the degree from Stanford, but it proves that she doesn't have the education enough to admit when she makes mistakes,

I didn't vote because none of the options work for me.
It's not about the female factor, though I have no doubt Ron is correct about the South on this. Neither would win because:
Clinton has too many seething enemies (never understood the seething part...I'm not crazy about her politics...too flip-floppy without explanation, but I'd vote for her over Rice).
Rice is associated with Bush and the wars that no one likes anymore. Her handling of Lebanon was pathetic.
If it really came down to one against the other, Rice has more charm, so I think she would take it. And I'd definitely move to Canada then. I can't take anymore of this crap.

Okay, I went ahead and placed my vote for Rice up there...if such a thing could happen.
I'm hoping for something more happy, like Guiliani vs. Kucinich.

I should clarify that I could probably stomach Guiliani if he won, and would be flying high if Kucinich won. Actually, there was one candidate who recently declared he was running that I did like...don't remember his name though.

Personally, there isn't a single Republican anywhere in this whole country of ours who I'd ever vote for, even for the local trash collector (which is what they really only should be doing), because they haven't got any ideas in the till that make any real-world sense to me. They're all corrupted by a dangerous neofascist, we-know-what's-best-so-f**k-you attitude. Quote by Amadeus Springstadt: Now that I'd pay to see!

I would LOVE to see Hillary as President. Sadly, I think think Americans would vote for a female president, we are just too behind the times. I hope I am proven wrong.
As far as the Republican comment made, I pretty much agree, However, Guliani did a WONDERFUL job as mayor in New York City, so I would possible consider him.
My fingers are crossed for Hillary.
There often seems to be a relatively unknown senator that surfaces the last minute that stirs a lot of interest. Guess time will tell.
Heck anybody that be better than what we have now!

I've stayed out of the debate so far because our American members are obviously more knowledgable about this stuff. But my guess would be that neither of them would win because of their gender and (in Condi's case) race. I hope to be proven wrong though.

John McCain/Sam Brownback I don't see anyone taking the nomination from McCain, and I think he takes Brownback as his running mate to solidify his chances with the Religious Right. Ron

Okay, I went ahead and placed my vote for Rice up there...if such a thing could happen. I'm hoping for something more happy, like Guiliani vs. Kucinich. Kucinich lacks the name recognition with voters and probably too far left. Guiliani probably too moderate for the GOP. I kind of like Rudy though. I disagree with most of his politics, but you have to admire him for his performance when the towers fell. He stood front and center displaying calming leadership, while the Monkey Boy was flying around on Air Force One, wetting his pants. Ron
