How do you feel about Hillary's campaign at this point? Is she right in going on against almost impossible odds? Or do you think she should throw in the towel because she's only hurting Obama's chances in the general election?

I think Hillary will have to consider at some point in the next four weeks or so how far she wants to carry this. She can't let her ego get the best of either her or the Democratic Party, or we will have another four years of macho warmongering under John McCain.
It appears at this point that Barack Obama will be the Democratic Party's nominee, and it will be necessary, in my opinion, for Hillary to smooth out the road to make it so he can tackle the Republican smear machinery that'll be aiming at him.
Hillary and her husband did a heck of a lot for this country during the 1990s--nobody can deny that. But times have changed, and a new face for the millennium is here. Barack Obama deserves support (IMHO).

I would be hesitant to speculate, but I'd wager probably not. Then again, the American political system being what it is, stranger things have been known to happen...

The more time Hillary stays in against Obama, the longer McCain gets a free ride and tongue bath from the media.. IMO which means nothing, of course

Quote by robertaxel:
Well, we've seen lately how accomplished McCain and Bush both are at demonizing Obama for allegedly wanting to negotiate with terrorists. What neither one of those f***ing idiots realize, but Obama does, is that we will not win this war on terror by simply bombing the s**t out of every regime we don't like. Reagan talked directly with Gorbachev, and that bought down the Iron Curtain; and Kennedy found a way to appeal to the better nature of Khruschev and Castro during the Cuban Missle Crisis.
The fact is that if we do not directly talk with our adversaries and convince them that it's not in their best interests to harbor or support terrorism of any kind, we here in America risk getting our collective a**es kicked just like what happened on 9/11.

I think it's an overstatement to say that the iron curtain went down just because Reagan talked to Gorbachev, although I will admit that Ronnie deserves a bit of the credit for it and that he was right to talk to "the enemy." In my opinion political leaders should ALWAYS talk to their "enemies." I think it's often ego and the risk of failure that prevents them from doing that. But without negotiations failure is a certainty. Gaston

Quote by jhar26 re. talking with our enemies:
Well we've got a lot of ego to go around in this dying presidency of Bush's, and a swelled militaristic ego in McCain. They won't even bother to sit down and take that first step...not because of fear of failure, but because of a combination of ego, cowardice, and a shoot-first-ask-questions-later attitude that infects their thinking.
