Looks good, doesn't it? More professional than the previous I think...

Yes, I agree. The change was announced since the end of last year and I feared the worst - kinda like when yahoo clubs chenged to yahoo groups, or their latest change from the previous one. Each change being a change for the worse. But this one has worked out very well I think.

Not yet a fan, especially since it fought my log in a bit... It could be that I am getting reactionary in my old age...

Look is improved I agree, though I have to get used to it too. I'm experiencing some delay/slowness in topics coming up and overall clumsiness adapting . The new log in was a bit of a pain at first. That's probably just my own computer ineptitude speaking. . .

We have pretty much the same layout on this forum as we do for the Linda Ronstadt and Dixie Chicks forums, so I'm fairly well used to it by now. I know for others it will take some time, though.

Post from Andrew at the general music board plus my reply which I moved over here where we can more properly discuss it.... Okay, every time I click something I get a pop-up. Sorry pro-boards but I agree to turn off my adblocker but pop-ups are a big no-no. Well, I'm considering paying to make the board ad-free. Question is - is it worth it for a forum with 'only' seven or eight active members? On the other hand, for a forum with only seven or eight active members IT IS pretty active. Also - I don't know other people's experience over here with the ads. I NEVER get pop-ups for example. So for me personally whatever ads there are aren't that much of a nuisance. But if other people's experience is different I'm willing to take that into consideration, so I would welcome any feedback from you guys concerning this topic.

I don't get any pop-ups either... maybe it's a browser problem of Andrew?

I get ads at the top center. But in this new format, they are small and far less intrusive (at least so far). So. . . really up to you Gaston as to what to do in that regard.

Does making it "ad free" turn it into a pay to play site, no disrespect to any of you, but I wouldn't pay here anymore than I would at Yahoo or Facebook.

And again, while we might have only six or eight "active" members participating we have a good core group of musically informed people plus Ben and his games.
the only thing I would add would be Walt, but can't force him to post over here I guess.

It's not an obscene amount though. I would only consider doing it if the ads were a nuisance to you guys or if it would help to make the forum grow. But as you say, we're doing pretty good with the members we have. If more people of the Walt type would like to join I'm all for it. But if it's only people who would dumb down the forum I can do without them.

Walt's the only one left actively posting at Goddesses that hasn't already been posting here since the forum re-boot, that fits that category, now that Andrew has joined us here as well.
There are still some from the old days on the membership over there, but they don't chime in and doubt if they are even lurking much anymore

But they are of the "let me think about it" type which usually means "no." But that's ok. We're here if they change their minds and if they don't we're no worse of than we are now.

I think something did happen when I loaded something new when I got internet again. I do think it's on my end, and not a proboards thing, because I'm having trouble across the board, not just here, and it's not debilitating I confess. In other words, please do not pay for ad-free!
