In what was a much tougher battle than the final result might indicate, the Los Angeles Kings, by virtue of their 3-2 double overtime win over a very worthy and tenacious New York Rangers squad, win the 2014 Stanley Cup title (professional ice hockey's crown) four games to one, for their second National Hockey League title in three years (and in their 47-year existence). It was a hard-fought series, and I tip my hat to the Rangers for their mettle, despite the sudden-death loss. The final play and the postgame bedlam:
