Journeyman Western film director Andrew V. McLaglen, who directed several of John Wayne's later films (CHISUM; CAHILL: U.S. MARSHAL) has passed away at the age of 94. More at this link: movies.yahoo.com/news/director-andrew-v-mclaglen-dies-94-130105776.htmlAmong other films McLaglen directed was the 1967 comedy western THE BALLAD OF JOSIE, with Doris Day (yes, that Doris Day) in the title role, and the hard-edged 1976 film THE LAST HARD MEN, with Charlton Heston and James Coburn, which was more Peckinpah/Leone-influenced.
