It does seem painful to note that Sally is right--unless you're Meryl Streep, if you're a woman who is 60 and older, Hollywood usually considers you ripe for The Home.
I would also point out, vis-à-vis what she said about kissing Paul Newman in ABSENCE OF MALICE, that Sally's first big-screen role of any kind was in the 1967 Western opus THE WAY WEST, alongside some heavy hitters (to wit, Kirk Douglas, Robert Mitchum, and Richard Widmark).
