I kind of lump him in with fellow "comics" like Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Romano, and Richard Lewis.
Too whiney.
Sort of like their "spiritual father" Woody Allen and his stand up schtick.

I liked Larry Sanders at the beginning-- innovative in its way; tho I rather lost interest after a little while. But not so much his stand up I heard (not that much tho). Woody was funny as stand up often IMO (esp. for the time), & I do like many if not all his films. But there is a 'self-involved/whiny' aspect I agree. Sorry LS died tho relatively young and so suddenly it seems.
