This is a highy significant one because it's the first big rock festival in history and it became the symbol for the "summer of love" in 1967. It also meant the breakthrough for Janis Joplin who went from nobody to superstar in 30 minutes. And the Who and the Jimi Hedrix Experience who were already well on their way in Europe made a big move here as well. Even Otis Redding who already was a star among the (largely black) soul community started reaching whites as well following this festival. Hell, even Indian ragas became popular following Rav Shankar's appearance there. You get plenty of all of them in this four cd box set, but there's also Canned Heat, The Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, The Mamas & The Papas, etc. As important a festival as there has ever been. Besides the cd's you also get a huge booklet with plenty of information and lots of photos.
